Milk Prices Surge Despite Directives
Despite the directives issued by the Commissioner Karachi, the issue of dairy farmers mafia in Karachi continues to persist. Once again, the orders to regulate milk prices have been disregarded, leading to an automatic increase of Rs 20 per liter.
While the official price of milk set by the Commissioner Karachi stands at Rs 180 per liter, the actual market price in the city was already at Rs 210 per liter. With the recent announcement of a further increase, milk is now being sold for up to Rs 230 per liter.
Disheartened citizens express their dissatisfaction, stating that the administration has failed to exert control over milk prices, allowing milk vendors to arbitrarily raise prices. Dairy farmers highlight the lack of seriousness from the Commissioner Karachi, as two meetings on milk prices were scheduled in the past three weeks, yet the commissioner remained absent.
