Tesla's retail model in China, known as the "Giga Lab," highlights the manufacturing capabilities of the electric vehicle (EV) pioneer. In this innovative concept store, Tesla showcases its expertise by allowing car enthusiasts to engage in conversations while witnessing a fully automated system construct the Tesla Model 3 in just 45 seconds.

With the assistance of a robotic arm, panels are assembled onto the frame of the Model 3, providing customers with a firsthand view of the assembly process at Shanghai's Gigafactory. Moreover, the store prominently exhibits powertrain and battery components, generating discussions and capturing the interest of potential buyers. By 2022, the Tesla Gigafactory in Shanghai had successfully manufactured one million EVs.

Tesla has announced plans to establish manufacturing facilities for its new pouch cells in both Texas and Shanghai. These pouch cells, featuring an LFP formula, are utilized in Tesla's shorter-range electric vehicles, as an alternative to cylindrical cells.

In line with the growing demand for electric vehicles, Tesla recognizes the significance of physical stores in key markets to enhance customer engagement. As a result, the company has expanded its retail and service locations from 1,000 to 2,000, emphasizing the importance of these establishments.

Furthermore, Tesla is determined to directly sell its EVs to consumers, bypassing traditional dealerships. The company argues that this approach enables customers to enjoy more competitive pricing and shorter waiting periods. In the face of intensifying competition in the EV market, Tesla is continuously exploring innovative strategies to sustain its marketing campaigns and secure a sufficient number of orders.
